Iacmus
Originally Jacmus was just going to be a world created for pure enjoyment, but even as I begin to create it, I can already sense a well of short stories begining to flood my imagination. As only time will reveal its purpose, for now I create it purely for fun.
The name Jacmus is not mine. Its actually a surname derivied from late-latin (used from the 3rd to the 7th centuries AD)and believed to have its origins in the Hebrew term akev = heel. The original spelling begins with an I instead of a J (Iacmus). Jacmus which means heel is still used today as a persons first and surname and it has since evolved into the modern names, Jacob and James. It is no secret that the name of this planet is due to the URL of this web site.
Another aspect of this particular geo-fiction is that segments of it will be open to use under the Creative Common's Licence. This means portions of it can be reused as long as the creative common's licence is adhered to by the user. These portions include: Races, Classes, Fauna, Flora and Monsters.
The inspiration for the concept of the planet that I have named Jacmus comes from a number of articles I have read in recent New Scientist magazine issues and from inner thoughts, visions and meditations.
Like most of my inventions, this fictional planet will no doubt be constructed through both visual and intellectual mediums. It will use a mixture of narration, short stories, poems, fictional facts, fictional interviews, fictional news articles and other artistic interpretations to tell its story.
Somewhere I like to fancy that there is a world just like this one. I am not its God, but its chalice from which it tells its story.

Prologue
Below lies the basic kowledge of the birth of Jacmus and its related geofictional universe, named: Ianus.
Ianus was created by humans who came from the planet known as Terra Firma.
The creation of Ianus was part of a scientific experiment in the 21st Century. That experiment''s aim was to re-create the Big Bang Theory. While the humans involved in the experiment realised that the theories behind their experiment were sound, they have since had no contact with their created universe. It had always been known that their experiment, though on a small scale and performed inside a testing laboratory in France under special scientific conditions would not be available for further research once the Big Bang occured.
The leading scientists of the experiment agreed that there would only be a fraction of second when their universe was distinctly alive before it would create a black hole into which it would slide. When it was first proposed, the experiment was listed as too dangerous and further debate saw the project's proposal shoved into a box and put on a shelf, only to be re-opened by one of the scientists son's some 60 years later. By this time, science had changed and there were safer testing conditions that were deemed suitable.
The theory behind creating the big bang was proven to be effective even though it was short lived. The experiment which was performed under controlled conditions, was concentrated inside a box less than a meter squared. As had been hypothesised 60 years before, a black hole formed shortly after the experiment began sucking the new universe (which was less than 15 centimetres in diameter) into it in less than a second after its birth.
Twenty-three days later it no longer mattered. The black hole had continued to grown feeding off the positive energy from Terra Firma until it had engulfed the planet, tearing it apart and consuming it.
Jacmus was born from chaos: a swirling brew of gases and star dust that combusted into a spiralling double helix similar to DNA that branched off into other spirals even as it was sucked whole into a strange vortex.
Jacmus was the first planet to form. It was trying to become a sun like the others but as the first two Suns in its solar system burst into life their gravitational pull was too strong, dragging the third would-be sun into their gravitational fields. Jacmus struggled and soon the energy it required to burst into a blazing gaseous object was depleted and its surface cooled.
The event was decidedly magical to those that watched even though zillions of light years later, intelligent species created from the same magic would still try to attempt to put a scientific explanation or label upon the event
Jacmus was of an oval shape and extremely hot to touch. Over thousands of years its outer mantel slowly cooled despite the continous solar gas that remained perpetually burning at its core. Sometimes, the gas would rise up towards the surface breaking through it and causing vulcanoes to burst forth. The planet like its other counterparts was pure concious and from it evolved a life force, curious and eager for knowledge. Like it''s Universe, Jacmus was evolving. At first the planet was too hot to sustain life upon its surface but as it cooled life-forms, extensions and tools of it's conscious emerged.
