Galaxy
A Galaxy is a defined area of the cosmos which is made up of stars, stellar remnants, gas, dust and dark matter that shares a gravitational commonality. The word galaxy, comes from the Greek root galaxias γαλαξίας which can mean Milky. This may have been chosen as a reference to Earth which is located in the Milky Way galaxy. A galaxy can come in many sizes and shapes and a galaxy can be made of millions to trillions of stars.
