What is fictional World Building?

You may be wondering what fictional World Building is all about. To some fantasy world builders, it is a hobby, for others a neccessity or means to an end. Geofictions, Sub Creation, Conworlds and Fictional Universes are the products of this fun activity that uses the imagination and is educational.

As a hobby, World Building can be inexpensive, creative and personally rewarding. There are many different facets and side-streams to World Building including the art of Conlang: creating a fictional language. Fictional writers can benefit from using elements of world building in their background writing and research. If you'd like to know more about Why you may want to create a Fantasy World(external link), read my Hubpage(external link) to gain an insight into the art of creating a Geofiction. My latest contribution on hubpages for world building is about creating Fantasy Races(external link).

Imagine how your world ends? Does it? What will your world be like in ten billion years in the future of its current setting? Would it still be the same shape? Would the atmosphere still support the same types of life? There are no rights or wrongs to what you can imagine with World Building. If you want to create your own fictional world then you can construct your fantasy world to be anything you like. Would it support life? What type of life would it support? Have fun with World Building and create your perfect world at JPWB. Would it be like Earth? If so, what would you do differently?

NASA August 24, 2006 The International Astronomical Union (IAU) downgraded Pluto from a planet to a dwarf planet. Pluto has been plagued with controversy since its discovery in 1930. Following the discovery in our solar system of another small planet Xena, which measures 5 percent larger than Pluto, the IAU have changed the definition of what makes a planet, a planet.
